This tester simulates the electrostatic discharge phenomenon from a charged human body and evaluates the resistance of electronic devices to electrostatic discharge.
Electrostatic discharge occurs when a charged human body approaches an operation panel, button switches, or housing of electronic devices. It generates a high-voltage, highfrequency noise which can cause malfunctions in the electronic devices. Electrostatic testing reproducing noise caused by electrostatic discharge is one of the essential immunity tests to prevent troubles caused by noise in the market.

Discharge modules (CR for GT-31S)
Conventional discharge guns have a separate CR unit and discharge cup. In the GT-31S, these are integrated into one discharge module. Replacing the module enables testing to IEC 61000-4-2 and ISO 10605 standards.

It supports more stringent evaluation of real-world ESD immunity and more extensive testing against non-standardized field events. Passing a standard test does not always assure real-world immunity.
Simulated events: loose screws, poor insulation coating, poor electrical connections between components, and other conditions that cause secondary discharges over very short distances.
Other compatible discharge guns: TC-815S, 815R, 815ISO, 815-330, 815-2K, 815S-330, and GT-30R series (Gun Head 03-00103A required).
This product cannot be used for air discharge testing.
